Apple Pie

Crust 

INGREDIENTS 
• 3 cups almond flour 
• 1/2 cup butter or clarified butter, melted 
• 2 tsp salt

PREPARATION


 1 In a large bowl, combine almond flour, butter and salt. Mix until it takes on a doughy texture. 2 Cut the dough into two even chunks. 3 With one of the chunks of dough, place it in a 9 inch pie dish and press it into the dish until it is all evenly distributed. 4 The remaining dough is to be used as the top crust for the pie, so roll it out and set aside for later use.




Filling
INGREDIENTS 

 • 7 apples, peeled and thinly sliced 
• 2 tbsp almond flour 
• ½ tsp cinnamon 
• ¼ tsp nutmeg 
• 2 tsp lemon juice


PREPARATION 
Preheat oven to 350 F. 
2 In a large bowl, toss apples in lemon juice. 
3 In a separate smaller bowl, combine almond flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. 
4 Pour the flour mixture over the apples and coat the apples evenly. 
5 Take the dough prepared earlier and place it on top of the pie. Press the edges together with the dough used to make the pie shell. Cut three small wholes in the top of the crust to allow heat to escape. 
6 Put the apple filling into the pie shell and cook for approximately 70 minutes.
